‘Round the World in 80 Days

I know I always have something good to say about Google, but they’ve done it again. A couple weeks ago, they released a free application called Google Earth. It’s even cooler than Google Maps because you can explore the whole world. Never been to Rome? Just type in Rome, Italy, and Google Earth will fly you there. Then type in Niagra Falls, and it will smoothly render the zooming out, and then zooming in until you are at your next destination. You can also zoom in, and tilt the view to get a wider view. For many US cities they even have 3-D renderings of buildings, including good ol’ Arlington, VA…check out the Clarendon Marketplace. It’s fully integrated with Google Maps, so you can get directions and double click on any part of the directions to fly into the route to see what the road/surroundings look like.

Check it out, I’ve already spent hours flying back and forth from city to city to find new places.
