Good Morning
This is one of my favorite things about my new place. I get to see this almost every morning when I wake up.

NY Trip #2
IMG_6277, originally uploaded by ultraclay!.
Two NY trips in just a few months is a personal record for me. We caught the train out of Union Station Friday evening up to Penn Station and headed out to Brooklyn from there. It seems as if nights never end before 4am every time I go up to NY, which is awesome at the time, and then not awesome the next day. We also caught Chicago at the Ambassador Theater the next day to see a friend perform. She was great, and even gave us a backstage tour afterwards. Unfortunately we saw it Jan from The Office takes over one of the lead roles.
The attraction keeping us at the bar Friday night were two bocce courts. All bars should have bocce!

Pictures from Europe (8.20.08-9.5.08)
I have been back from my trip to Europe for a little over a week now and I finally sorted through hundreds of pictures. Amanda and I went to four cities in a 2.5 weeks: Paris, Berlin, Oswiecim/Auschwitz and Istanbul. We flew around everywhere and were lucky enough to stay in some decently priced nice hotels.
I trimmed all the pictures down to about 400, but also made a “best of” set on Flickr that sums up the whole trip in 117 pictures.
I also took a ton of video, so I’ll be making a video of that as soon as I find some time.
Check out the pictures on Flickr:
Paris, France (8.20.08-8.23.08, 9.3.08-9.5.08) (128 pics)
Berlin, Germany (8.23.08-8.27.08) (95 pics)
Oswiecim, Poland (8.27.08-8.28.08) (24 pics)
Istanbul, Turkey (8.28.08-9.3.08) (155 pics)

Pictures from Juniper Lane / Coldplay @ Verizon

I’ve just posted my pictures from the Coldplay concert on Flickr, where Juniper Lane opened up. They did great, and I thought the crowd had a very good response to their short set. Not many of my pictures came out that well because we were a bit far away, and they didn’t light up the stage that much for Juniper Lane.

Also, I caught a local celebrity sitting right by us. Click through to find out who it was! Read the rest of this entry »
Nat’s Game [6.20.08]
Went to the Nat’s game on Friday. Weather was perfect. Ben’s Chili Bowl was had, a rare 14th inning stretch, and we won 4-3 in the bottom of the 14th.
Bowling at Lucky Strike

Went bowling last night at Lucky Strike. A lot of fun, but would’ve been better had they worked out their lack of AC problem.

Nationals v. Pirates

I went to my first Nationals game in the new stadium this weekend and I loved it. I liked the convenience of RFK being on the Orange line, but the amenities and architecture of the new stadium more than made up for it. The first thing you notice when you walk in, is that the stadium has a very open feel. When you’re walking around the concourse, you generally have a good view of the field. There are a ton of places to get food and some randomly placed bars around the stadium to hang out and grab drinks. There was a bit of a hiccup with the lighting though, and the game had a 15-20 minute delay at the top of the 4th inning. All in all, I was very impressed with the Nat’s new stadium, and I can’t wait to go to a ton more games this summer and get some Ben’s Chili Bowl. Time to invest in some Nat’s gear.
