Dream of 33 Years Close to Dying?

DC baseball may not be coming to town after all. Unless DC figures another way to come up with money for the stadium by December 31st, then MLB will start taking more offers to relocate the Expos.

When the baseball council agreed to bring DC a baseball team, they were under the impression that the stadium was going to be funded 100% by public money. Now that the team is actually here, the mayor has found out that public money can only provide half of the whopping $270 million. Oops! Huge blunder.

At first I was sort of against baseball coming into town, but there might possibly be a few business opportunities arising out of the stadium reinvigorating Southeast DC. Only time will tell. 16 days to be exact…
