Some may know, but for those who don’t – I’ll be heading out for a long vacation starting this Saturday, and won’t be back in town until November 6th. On my 17 day tour of China, I’ll be exploring many cities and tourists attractions including the Great Wall in Beijing, Terracotta Army in Xian, Shanghai and Hong Kong. I’ve had to deal with a few nuisances before my trip like applying for a visa, getting Hepatitis A/B & tetanus shots, and taking a round of Typhoid pills. I’ve never even heard of anyone taking typhoid pills before!
Follow along with my itinerary to see where I am starting Saturday:
Oct 21 – Oct 25: Beijing – Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Dingling Tomb, Great Wall.
Oct 26: Xian – Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Ming Dynasty City Wall.
Oct 27: Chongqing – Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses.
Oct 28 – Oct 29: Yangtze River Cruise
Oct 30 – Nov 3: Shanghai – The Bund, Nanjing Road, Museum, Yu Yuan Garden, Window Of The World, Splendid China.
Nov 4- Nov 6: Hong Kong – Not sure what we’re doing here, but I’m sure we’ll be occupied.
It feels weird that I’ll be missing things like JMU Homecoming, Halloween, and three glorious weekends of NFL Football, but it will be well worth it (I still have hope that I will find the internet there so I can log in and change my fantasy lineup!). I bought a new memory card for my camera, so just pray that our power converters work right so that I can recharge my camera. Keep an eye out for another post with links to all my pictures on Flickr after I get back.
